A vertically oriented etching on white paper depicts a man seated against a wooden post, head tilted back with eyes closed and mouth agape. He wears a long, light robe with a cross emblem. A metal handle protrudes from his neck, and his bound hands clasp a small crucifix. His bare feet extend forward as a lit candle on a stand illuminates the background rendered in dense, hatched lines to our left.
