Description

Because this gold coin represents the Paschal Lamb, a symbol of Christ, on one of its faces, it is known as a "Golden Sheep"--Mouton d'Or in French.
One side of a gold coin features a central lamb facing left with textured fleece and a halo. Behind the lamb stands a tall cross with a waving banner. Below the lamb, the word REX is stamped. The central scene is framed by a border of small arches. Latin text in a circular band surrounds the image, terminating in a thin, beaded rim around the outer edge.
