This print was published in Le Charivari (November 13, 1846) as plate 23 from the series The Good Bourgeois.
A vertically oriented lithograph in black ink on off-white paper depicts a circular scene of four people with light skin tones. To our left, an artist in a striped coat and cap sits at an easel, painting a landscape. To our right, a man in a top hat leans forward to examine the canvas, followed by a woman in a bonnet and a child. French text runs along the bottom.
