This print was published in Le Charivari (April 14, 1847) as plate 40 from the series The Good Bourgeois.
A vertically oriented black-and-white lithograph depicts a man with light skin tone seated in profile, smiling at a small framed picture. Before him, a woman with light skin tone stands holding a child. The man wears a dark jacket and checkered trousers; the woman wears a bonnet and checkered dress. Dense intersecting lines shade the background. Inscribed above is "LES BONS BOURGEOIS." and below, "Papa contemplant l'image de son image."
