Description

This print was published in Le Charivari (April 27, 1859) as plate 8 from the series The Exhibition of 1859.
A vertically oriented lithograph depicts two men with light skin tones conversing on a sidewalk. On our left, a bearded man in a dark coat and hat points toward a shop window while holding a cane. Facing him, a smiling man wears a tall top hat and light coat. Behind them, a woman leans forward toward the display. Dense hatching creates depth throughout the scene. Inscribed at bottom left are the initials "h.D."
