A vertically oriented painting with black ink on dark brown silk sparsely depicts a bird perched on a gnarled branch. Centrally located and facing left, the bird is rendered in muted tones against the visible weave. Sinuous branches sweep upward from the bottom toward the upper right. Faint vertical calligraphy and a red seal feature in the upper left corner, completing the atmospheric composition.
