A horizontally oriented ink and chalk drawing on off-white paper depicts two studies. On our right, Venus, a nude woman with a light skin tone, reaches toward Mars, a seated man in armor who raises a spear with his right arm. To the left, a large drapery study is rendered in dark black chalk with blended shadows. Stains and a line of cursive text mark the bottom edge, while fine linework defines the figures.
