Did You Know?

This page is from the end of the Story of Kalakacharya, when Kalaka dies by fasting.
A pair of horizontally oriented palm leaf fragments features columns of black ink script divided by red lines. Circular holes are cut into the center of each. On the lower fragment, a square tempera illustration depicts Brahmanshanti Yaksha, a light-skinned deity with four arms and a pointed halo, seated cross-legged. Red vertical borders frame the text and figure against the weathered, frayed leaf edges. A red circular stamp marks the far left.
