Description

The text on this page describes Queen Trishala's joyous and peaceful pregnancy of 9 months, 7-and-a-half days. It goes on to say that Mahavira was born at midnight on the 13th day of the first month of summer, and all omens augured success.
A horizontally oriented tan paper folio is inked with dense, angular black script framed by two thick vertical red bands. In the center sits a vibrant red circle containing a stylized four-petaled design. Additional script in varying sizes fills the top, bottom, and side margins. The aged paper features rounded corners and is scattered with dark stains throughout.
