A vertically oriented ink painting on tan paper depicts a bald, elderly man with a light-toned face and sparse beard. Hunched forward, he wears voluminous robes defined by sweeping, dark charcoal strokes. He gazes downward toward a scroll partially unrolled in his hands. This singular figure occupies the bottom third of the composition, leaving a vast, empty void above. Two square, red ink seals are stamped on the lower-left border.
