A vertically oriented hanging scroll in black ink and slight color depicts Hotei, a smiling man with light skin tone facing right, his belly exposed. He wears a dark, draped robe beside a white bag. Above him, a gnarled pine branch with short, needle-like strokes extends across the top. To the right, rocky peaks are rendered with gestural washes and fine streaks. Red square seals and black calligraphy sit in the lower right.
