A horizontally oriented fan-shaped painting in color on paper depicts Risshi, a man with a light skin tone, long hair, and a beard, reclining against a dark rock center-right. He wears a blue robe and shaggy brown garment, looking toward two birds in the upper left. Vertical Japanese calligraphy and a red seal appear on our right. On our left, scattered white dots surround his bare feet against a plain background.
