A vertically oriented ink and color painting on silk depicts two horses against a warm, tan background. In the foreground, a light-gray horse faces left, its head turned back. Directly behind it, a reddish-brown horse with a white mane and bridle faces right. In the upper portion, vertical columns of Chinese calligraphy and red seals appear. The composition is framed by a dark-green border decorated with gold foliage and cloud patterns.
