Did You Know?

Shennong legendarily taught people how to farm and also how to use plants as medicine.
A vertical hanging scroll depicts a black ink drawing of a wild-haired man from the chest up. Looking to our right with wide eyes, he bites several long, blade-like leaves. His weathered face features thick eyebrows and two horn-like bumps atop his head. He grasps herbs against a dark, spotted animal-skin garment. Bold, expressive brushstrokes define his frame against a plain tan background, bordered by patterned blue silk.
