A hanging scroll in ink and light color on silk depicts a vertical mountain landscape. Black Chinese calligraphy and a red seal occupy the upper left (see "Inscriptions"). Spindly, leafless trees in the foreground lead toward rounded, layered mountains on the right. Fine lines and dark dotting convey texture and foliage across the slopes. Near the bottom, a cluster of small houses with gabled roofs sits at the mountain base.
