Did You Know?

Turquoise is pretty but it was also thought to bring good luck.

Description

The rich gold and beautiful turquoise of this pendant make this piece of jewelry a visual delight. At the lower half one notices the fine braiding detail. The extravagant materials suggest it was made for a wealthy individual.
A gold pendant features three upright fish figures joined at the top, each crowned with a gold disk. They overlook a trapezoidal turquoise stone, an opaque blue mineral engraved with an eye and encased in a gold frame. Vertical rods flank the stone on either side. From a horizontal bar at the base dangle four braided gold chains of varying lengths.
