Description

This is the cover for a group of 22 preparatory drawings for Kamisaka Sekka's print series Flowers of a Hundred Worlds.
A horizontally oriented drawing on muted green paper features fluid black calligraphy clustered in vertical columns. A large, organic teal splash curves from the upper right, while the weathered paper shows visible creases, frayed edges, and a pale brown stain. Small characters and a narrow strip occupy the far right, but the primary calligraphy flows vertically through the center and left, leaving expansive swathes of the page blank.
