This is the original drawing for a print in the second volume of the print series Flowers of a Hundred Worlds.

Description

Kamisaka Sekka made preparatory drawings for his Flowers of a Hundred Worlds series on tracing paper with ink and color. The freehand sketches are much looser than the finished, printed compositions.
A horizontal ink and color drawing depicts a green carriage draped in green fronds and purple wisteria. Two massive black-spoked wheels frame the view. Beside the carriage, three figures with light skin tones stand. A figure in a pink robe faces away, while another in a white top leans their chin on a shaft. Behind them, trees with white flowers and a building with latticed windows appear against a warm orange and yellow sky.
