A hanging scroll with ink and light color on silk depicts a large monkey cradling a smaller one. Facing left, the larger monkey looks down at the offspring tucked against its chest; both feature dense, gray-brown fur rendered with fine brushstrokes. Sparse green and brown ferns grow from a low mound flanking the pair. On the right, vertical Japanese calligraphy and a square red seal mark the cream background.
