Description

A nobleman is seated on a carpet, attended by a retainer holding a flywhisk.
A rectangular tempera painting depicts two figures with medium-dark skin tones against a vibrant yellow background. To our left, a standing attendant in a gray tunic holds a white whisk above a ruler kneeling on a patterned rug. Facing our right, the ruler wears a red and orange striped tunic and holds a blue shield. A thin tree with stylized green foliage stands nearby. Script appears in the upper-left red border.
