Did You Know?

Three of four stags on this cup each appear to have just one ear.

Description

A siren, a mythological woman-headed bird, stands at the center of the figural band on either side of this cup, her wings spread and head turned to the left. Flanking her are a pair of grazing stags, with a panther on either side facing inward. Inside, the cup is sparsely decorated, its reserved tondo holding a dot within concentric circles.
A black ceramic vessel features a wide bowl narrowing to a pedestal foot with two handles curving upward. An orange band around the center depicts a central winged siren with a human head and bird body facing right. Two antlered stags on either side bend their heads toward the center, flanked by felines with long tails. Thin orange stripes repeat around the black lower body and foot.
