Did You Know?

A decorative object, this duck head finial likely topped a piece of furniture.
A sculpture depicts a duck-like head and neck cast in bronze, a dark green metal smoothed to a sheen. Fine, incised lines detail the broad bill's edges and form an X-pattern on top. In profile facing right, the vertical neck curves forward toward a small, protruding circular eye. Glints of light catch the smooth, dark surfaces. The base is finished with a plain black cylindrical sleeve.
