Did You Know?

This metal pin was used to fasten clothing.
A bronze garment pin, weathered with a dark greenish-black patina, tapers from a spherical bead at the top left to a sharp point at the bottom right. Horizontal incised lines detail the bead, which is crowned by a flat circular disk. The long, slender shaft displays a mottled, textured surface typical of wrought metal. Variations in oxidation create subtle shifts in color across the diagonal length of the dark object.
