Description

This print was published in Le Charivari (January 14, 1838) as plate 72 from the series Caricaturana.
A horizontally oriented print in black ink depicts three figures in an interior. On our left, a man in spectacles and a long coat leans toward another man slumped in an armchair to our right. The seated figure's eyes are closed and mouth agape. Behind them stands a thin, sketchy figure. A boot and glove lie discarded on the floor. Fine cross-hatching shades the scene, and French text runs along the bottom.
