A horizontally oriented woodcut and tempera painting depicts a dense battle between two groups of warriors. Multitiered, flag-topped buildings frame the clash on our left and right. In the upper center, two figures with swords fly through the air. Lower, the foreground is scattered with severed limbs and heads near a camel on our left and scavenging dogs on our right. The palette uses muted yellow, red, and green with black outlines.
