A vertically oriented gum tempera and graphite painting depicts a large, blue-skinned man in a red tunic and yellow crown, holding a sword and grasping a woman's hair. Centered in the frame, she wears a red skirt and intricate jewelry. To our right, a pink-clothed figure with a black face reaches toward them. Bold outlines and flat areas of color define the simplified forms against a beige background with sweeping lines.
