Description

This image is taken from popular dramas where Krishna, lover of the cowgirls (gopis), disguises himself as a boatman to ferry a demure Radha, his favorite gopi. It depicts devotion and the intensity of separated lovers.
A vertically oriented painting depicts three figures aboard a swan-shaped boat on blue water. On our left, Radha, with a medium skin tone, sits beneath an orange canopy wearing a green striped veil. In the center, a bald man with light skin stands on the yellow deck. On our right, Krishna, with dark blue skin and a peacock feather crown, holds a staff. Faint, sketchy patterns float against the pale tan background above.
