Description

Garuda, Vishnu’s vehicle, depicted here kneeling with the body of a man and head of an eagle, is shown carrying Balarama on his right shoulder and his younger brother Krishna on his left.
A vertically oriented painting depicts a large, bird-beaked figure in yellow kneeling toward the left. Broad teal green wings extend outward. Two figures sit atop his shoulders, one pale and one dark blue, wearing striped garments and towering peacock plumes with circular eyes. Arched lines define their features and jewelry. The figures are grounded against a flat cream background, where faint graphite strokes and tempera textures create a vibrant, centered composition.
