A vertically oriented gum tempera and graphite painting on torn paper depicts Kali, a deity with a black face and three eyes. Her long red tongue extends over a yellow-orange chest draped in white necklaces. A green and yellow radiance halos her red headdress. Kali wears a striped garment and, in our bottom right corner, holds the severed head of a person with a light skin tone against a neutral, aged background.
