Two horizontal, six-fold paper screens feature mineral pigment and gold leaf paintings depicting gnarled plum trees and pheasants. On the top screen, a lichen-covered branch curves from the center toward our right, where three birds rest among bamboo. Below, a thick trunk rises from white mounds on our left, its blossoming limbs stretching across the gold background. Small white flowers dot the dark, angular branches throughout both compositions.
