Description

Dedicated to wildlife and natural habitat preservation, Tepe helped bring nature photography into the fine art world. He exhibited his photographs and published articles and pictures in both natural history and art magazines.
A horizontally oriented sepia silver print depicts two speckled, cream-colored eggs nestled in a sandy depression. Located slightly right of center, the eggs are dappled with dark spots and surrounded by sparse, dry vegetation. In the upper left corner, a tangle of thin, leafless branches overarches the scene. The composition emphasizes textures through warm, muted tones, capturing the fragile nest within the coarse, earthy terrain.
