A steatite carving, a soft stone with traces of turquoise glaze, depicts a scarab beetle. The oval insect features a weathered, cream-colored surface with dark cracks and pits throughout. Carved ridges at the top define the beetle's head and legs, while the main body forms a smooth, rounded dome. Subtle blue-green residue remains in the deep crevices, and the object is positioned upright against a dark, minimalist background.
