Did You Know?

Iznik is a town on the eastern shores of Lake Iznik, in northwestern Turkey.
A square fritware tile features a central scalloped blue medallion on a white ground. The medallion contains a large blue blossom encircled by stems of blue tulips and pale pink carnations. Vibrant green corner sections contain small white blossoms. Black wavy lines and clusters of three blue dots occupy the white spaces between the medallion and corners. The glazed surface exhibits a fine network of cracks and minor wear along the edges.
