A circular medal cast in warm bronze features a crowing rooster with spread wings, facing our left. Below, textured laurel leaves and ribbons wind around the bird's legs and lower body. At the top, the year "1914" on our left and "1916" on our right flank the rooster's comb. The surface shows detailed rendering of feathers and foliage against a smooth, brownish-gold background.
