A cream-colored ivory netsuke depicts a winged, bird-headed figure standing atop a mask. Facing right with a hooked beak and pointed ears, the figure wears robes and a small circular cap. A long sword is strapped across textured wings, while both hands grip a thin staff. Its bird-like feet rest upon a creature with a wide, toothy face. Large, dark eyes stare forward from beneath the cap.
