A horizontal etching peers through a massive stone arch. To our left, wooden scaffolding and a boat sit in deep shadow. On our right, a figure scales a rope against a pale pier. Through the arch, a sunlit bridge spans the river toward pointed towers. Small figures navigate rowboats in the water. Densely layered, cross-hatched lines create deep contrast between the cavernous foreground and the bright sky where three birds soar.
