A horizontally oriented woodcut print in black ink depicts various figures in white. On our left, undulating, stylized letters spell "Le Sourire" above a four-legged animal and a bird. Centrally, a woman with dark skin sits draped in white fabric. To our right, a hooded person looks down beneath a floating, mask-like face. Bold, carved lines and textured hatching define the composition. Handwritten text and signatures appear in the lower margin.
