Description

The play Snowflakes: Plum Blossom Kaomise was performed at the Ichimura Theater in 1769.
A vertical print in muted colors depicts a man with light skin tone standing centrally, wearing a reddish-brown and tan patterned robe with broad, angular shoulders. He holds a small hand drum and looks over his shoulder toward a flowering plum branch. Two swords are tucked into his belt. Behind him is a gridded window and a floor decorated with swirling patterns and fallen maple leaves. Signature and seal appear at the lower right.
