A horizontally oriented etching in black ink with dense, fine lines depicts a textured landscape. In the foreground, cows wade through a shallow stream while a seated figure with a staff rests on the right bank. Massive trees with bushy, dense foliage dominate the center, partially masking a multi-story building. A solitary, gnarled tree frames the right edge. Low hills and small buildings appear in the distance beneath a pale, sparsely etched sky.
