A long reddish-brown wooden opium pipe terminates in ivory caps ringed by patterned dark-blue bands. Toward our right, an ornate silver mount features raised scrollwork and inset green and red stones, supporting a bulbous bowl with a silver funnel-shaped opening. A small carved figure perches on the stem just past the silver. The pipe's smooth wood contrasts with the intricate metalwork and pale ivory ends.
