A monotype portrait in black ink on off-white paper depicts the head and shoulders of a boy facing forward. Thick, streaky strokes define his curly hair and dark clothing. High-contrast highlights illuminate his face against deep shadows around deep-set eyes and a closed mouth. Vertical, streaky lines fill the background. Centered on the paper with wide margins, the rectangular print includes a signature in the lower right.
