Lions were not native to Cambodia.
A tan sandstone sculpture depicts a lion seated with straight front legs and back legs tucked against its body. The figure has a wide, open mouth and a fragmented face, nose broken away. A thick mane of pointed, overlapping tufts covers its chest. Below, large paws with distinct claws rest on a rectangular base carved with a band of floral patterns.
