A horizontally oriented etching in black ink on beige paper captures a bustling Venetian canal. Ornate, multi-story palazzos with gothic windows line the left and center banks. The water is congested with gondolas and elaborate, multi-tiered floats teeming with rowers and spectators. In the foreground, figures maneuver long oars through detailed waves. At the bottom, two lines of Latin script are printed in the margin below the scene.
