Did You Know?

Aboriginal artists made paintings on bark using symbols drawn from ceremonial body painting and rock paintings.
Rectangular sheet of striated dark brown bark painted in white with a stylized kangaroo in profile. The head significantly smaller than the body, the arms and legs stick diagonally out and down with the tail curved between the legs. A diamond pattern covers the chest while hatching marks the back and most of the remainder of the body. The paint has worn away in striated patches.
