Description

Alex Katz's early paintings, including Four People, were based on amateur snapshots he collected from family and friends.
A square oil painting on Masonite depicts four featureless figures with light skin tones standing on snowy ground. From our left, a woman in a black coat stands beside a person in a gray dress and taupe coat. A man in a tan coat and blue pants stands beside another in a brown coat. Behind them is a dark green forest and a white clapboard building with sketched windows on our right.
