Did You Know?

The characters for ceramist Morino's first name, 泰明, can be read Hiroaki or Taimei. In daily life, the artist uses Hiroaki, but his style name is Taimei.
Squat stoneware cylindrical jar that curves in at the upper edge to a central hole with no rim. Primarily a metallic grey and black speckled color, a red-brown glaze shows through mostly in the upper half. This upper half features wavy lines framing a red space into which jut geometric speckled grey and black sections, primarily in "L" shapes. Occasional red blobs float among the grey-black, mostly along the edges of the red.
