Borowiec, who has been teaching photography at the University of Akron since the mid 1980s, has often turned his attention to the residential, commercial, and industrial landscapes of Ohio. This image belongs to a series of more than 40 commissioned works interpreting the Cleveland Flats, as well as the nearby neighborhoods of Tremont, Ohio City, and Slavic Village.
