A hanging scroll in ink and light color depicts a vertical landscape with columns of Japanese calligraphy at the top. Misty, jagged mountains rise above traditional buildings with tiered roofs along a shoreline where boats are docked. In the foreground, a gnarled pine tree with textured bark grows from a large rock, leaning over the water. The composition is framed by patterned silk borders at the top and bottom.
