A vertically oriented etching and drypoint on tan paper depicts a woman with a light skin tone facing our left. She bends over a large wooden tub on a three-legged stool, her hands pressing into a washboard. She wears a headscarf, jacket, and long skirt with an apron. Dense cross-hatching shades her clothing and the floor. 'Ch. Jacque' is written at the top left, with printing text along the bottom edge.
