Did You Know?

This sancai-glazed Tang vessel stands on three paw-shaped feet.
A rounded earthenware vessel features a short, flared rim and three tripod legs shaped like animal heads with clawed paws. Green, amber, and cream glazes drip vertically down the body, pooling above a dark horizontal band encircling the base. At the center, a large, symmetrical leaf medallion is embossed in relief, flanked by smaller floral patterns. The multicolored glazes extend onto the legs, accentuating the molded animal features and paws.
